Toughened glass PDF   Print   E-mail
Toughened glass is obtained by heating common glass to its softening point (of about 700°C) and then rapidly cooling it. This process relieves the internal stresses, making the glass much more durable.

Toughened glass has increased strength and will usually shatter in small, square pieces with blunt edges when broken.

We can toughen float glass, stained glass, glass with covers, ornamental glass. Toughened glass is 4 or 5 times stronger than ordinary glass in anti-curve intensity, anti-impact intensity and heat stability. Due to its resistance, toughened glass is particularly used when strength, thermal resistance and safety are important factors, i.e. in furniture, glazed doors, glass movable and immovable walls, facades, shower doors, kitchen appliances. To make the glass unique, it is colored before toughening.
